Tow-in Surfing
Tow-in surfing involves using (normally) a jet ski to tow a surfer into a wave. The wave surfers target with this sort of method are monsters of the surfing world and prove very popular with film crews. Which is a good thing as these giant waves are normally only found way out to sea over distant reefs so it is hard for spectators to view the spectacular… unless the have a boat, helicopter or are a VERY good swimmer.
The monsters waves created by the rising reefs can travel at speeds of up to 40 miles per hour, hence the need to be towed into the wave. However this method of towing in, will not protect the surfer if they wipe out riding these speeding bulldozers. These are dangerous waves to surf and are not for the faint hearted or any surfer with a less than pro ability.
