This serves as the kick off for the surfing world tour. Truly a nice start as the event is a mix of magic and mayhem as the professional surfers and fans from all over the world converge to the beach of cooly at goldy.

Here, the buses are more than willing to accommodate you with your surf boards. The crowd can get big though and waiting can be a bit frustrating. Another option will be to rent a car or buy an old junk car to be your ride as you look for your kind of adventure in the Aussie foams.

Rip Curl Pro

This event is the longest-running surfing competition in history. It is held in a sleepy spot in the land down under awakened by the thunderous breaks of the wave at Bells and the cheers of the crowd for this annual gathering of surf lovers.

The place of birth of Rip Curl wet suits and Quiksilver clothing is an hour away from the Melbourne airport. The foam is quite far from the local accommodations that you can get and the hike going to the Bells can be considered a very good exercise for the heart.

Getting to the event location takes effort as one may opt to paddle for two miles or take a boat ride to get to the spot of the Chopes.

Chopes is a wave of mother nature not meant to be tamed. This surf breaks around seven hundred meters from the shore and provides a nice challenging foam ride. The surfing gets exciting and dangerous as the wave breaks along a crescent shaped reef making it treacherous for any surfing mortal. One can only escape via a vertical take off or experience the bone breaking angst of the barrels and the razor like corals that waits where the Chopes settles down.

The event was born 2005 and every year reborn to make hearts thump and instill fear among surfers.

The surf ensures high quality performance for experienced surfers. It is a matter of balance, strength, endurance, and luck when riding a wave which can carry you for hundreds of meters or drag you down a sandy and rocky sea bed.

This ninth event of the world surfing tourney is a drive away from French border. Spain welcomes surfers with the world famous hallow barrel surf tempting anyone to have fun in the waters.

This stage can be critical to make a champion among the lines of excellent surfers. The spot is not that easy to find although it is only a few kilometers from the Bilbao industrial district. Surfers will only see signs around four kilometers proximate to the venue but getting there is really worth anybody’s time.

Joaquina and Imbituba are known to surfers all over the globe as the tandem to conquer at this penultimate stage of the world surfing tournament. The two may be small and short breaks but can be hollow and powerful enough to send anyone down under the froth.

Brazilians are born to surf. Look at the beach and you will see people of all ages can show you a trick or two how to get the surf board on air while riding the swell. The waves here have consistency and are best for all levels of surfing skills.
