Roxy Pro, Snapper Rocks
This surfing destination could be reached by bus, bike or even foot. And if you some cash to spare, you can also get a cab if you want.
This surfing chic’s paradise offers 22 kilometers of Australia’s sandy stretch, where girls and boys alike could play it rough with the waves through out the day and then play it rough in the dance floor afterwards when the sun sets. This is just one of the reasons that they call it ‘Cooly’ Surfer’s Paradise!
Here, you could get a whole mile of reeling rights that barrel above a spoon-fed sandbar, which makes the whole place one superb surfing playground. The surf here varies which is why the Roxy Pro could set up shop here but could also relocate to Burleigh Kirra, or Duranbah if the Cooly’s Superbank surfs do not behave.
It is also home to ASP Women’s World Tour surfers Stephanie Gilmore and Chelsea Georgeson, which is why there’s big chance that you would get to see them hit the waves here. However, you should be prepared to compete with a whole bunch of surfers, if you really want to get a good ride.
Of course, the next best thing to surfing in this place would be the local’s love and passion for drinking adult beverages. A couple of interesting restaurants are also worth a visit such as Coolangatta Fruit Shop, Little Malaya Restaurant, and Café Fresh. If you’re looking for a dose of caffeine, then you could also drop by Gloria Jeans or Gold Coast.
This place has been hosting ASP Women’s World Tour events since 2002 and has produced great surfing champions, and the most notable would be 2005’s trials winner, Stephanie Gilmore who is the youngest that ever won the tournament at the age of seventeen.
