Transportation may be tricky in the island where this event is held but is all worth it when you hear the resounding splash of surf and laughter of the local folks that welcome you.

The Fijians are very friendly and smiles at every encounter you may have with them. This folks are more than happy to bring surfing aficionados around their place. They will also be happy to introduce you to Cloudbreak and Restaurants.

Cloudbreak and Restaurants are not surfers’ joints but they are surfs that are considered the best in left hand breaks in the world. These waves form nice surfing walls and barrels that never fail to challenge anyone along the shallow waters.

The waves can swell from six feet to building high making adrenalins pump as surfing champs try to handle the solid walls and barrels of surf. There are several occasions when hits are called off because of the dangerous conditions due to the monster waves.

Ask the locals if you can get some Kava, a local drink derived from some roots. They will give a glass to you paired with a smile. There are only two guaranteed effects: either you will hallucinate or the next day when you surf, you will not know that you have hit the razor sharp reefs.

After surfing, you can relax in a five star hotel fit for surfing royalties this side of the South Pacific. The resort is just a stone throw away from water adventures like snorkeling and kayaking. You can also hop to the next island to relax on a hammock with a nice kicking beverage on your hand.

The sponsor started hosting this event in 2005 but time has proven that Cloudbreak and Restaurants never fail to exceed the expectations of the surf lovers.
